Exercise 4 | 4-2-1 Timing

Train your body to move to the timing of the music. The 4-2-1 Timing exercise teaches you to naturally change the speed of your movement as you dance to a song.

Start with taking four beats to move your body to the music, slow training, then two beats to move your body, regular speed training, and lastly, one beat to move your body, fast training. Feel good moving to each of the 4-2-1 speeds first, then freely change between these speeds.

This exercise helps you move as slow or as quickly as you feel, as the music makes you feel. Practice the 4-2-1 to many different songs, becoming intentional and musically creative with the timing of your movement.
