Exercise 1 | Rotating Progressives (Solo)

You have the progressives and they are natural for you.  Here we upgrade them with general rotation, keeping your 1-2-Whoosh timing 😉

Start with progressives and as you progress naturally rotate your body during the entire move, maintaining your forward-forward-side or backward-backward-side moves.  Imagine you have a steering wheel in front of you and you are turning it during the whole move.

As you progress forwards your moves will rotate left and right, changing back and forth on each move.  When your left leg starts forwards and side moves left, you rotate right.  When your right leg starts forwards and side moves right, you rotate left.  As you progress backwards your moves rotate left and right as well.  When your left leg starts backwards and side moves left, you rotate left.  When your right leg starts backwards and side moves right, you rotate right.

Another way of seeing it is when you are moving forwards you rotate the side move to continue forwards, and when you are moving backwards you rotate the side move to continue backwards.  Never fight the energy flow, empowering it to dictate your rotation.

You have a rotation spectrum from barely rotating the move to greatly rotating the move.  Practice playing with different degrees of rotation.

Take the time to feel your progressives rotating.  It can be easy to confuse the direction of rotation, which makes it important to stay sensitive and feel that it feels right.  If it feels awkward it is likely you are forcing the wrong direction of rotation.

Practice with the Spotify playlist and your favorite tunes.

Have fun with this one.
