Level 1 | Foundation Course
Our foundation course is comprised of 8 exercises to flow freely, independently and in partnership.
These exercises establish your 5 relationships and are practiced indefinitely as you develop your flow.
Exercise 1 | Personal Flow
Personal flow is your warm-up exercise, calibrating yourself to feel good, move fluidly, and become one with the music.
Exercise 2 | Partnership Flow
Use partnership flow as your warm-up exercise to develop balance, stability and fluidity in partnership.
Exercise 3 | Freedom Dance
Use the freedom dance to become physically present and feel your body take precedence.
Exercise 4 | 4-2-1 Timing
Train your body to move to the timing of the music. The 4-2-1 Timing exercise teaches you to naturally change the speed of your movement as you dance to a song.
Exercise 5 | Partner Connection
Build a connection with your partner, a feel for your partner, permitting you to move and dance with your partner.
Exercise 6 | Articulate Movement
With speaking, you verbally connect and communicate with others. With dance, you physically connect and communicate with others. You articulate your movement into moves to dance just as you articulate sound into words to speak.
Exercise 7 | Partnership Movement
Movement is the medium to connect, communicate and dance. The better you move in partnership, the better you dance in partnership.
Exercise 8 | Free Flow
Freeflow is an unrestricted experience. Partnership dance uses natural feeling to have a physical conversation. When you are free-flowing, you are connected, playing, and feeling dance as an open conversation, an open physical conversation directed by natural feeling.
