Level 2 | Horizontal Movement
Horizontal is the 1st element of movement, moving intentionally through space in parallel relation to the earth.
Forwards, Side, and Backwards are the three clearest and best feeling directions of horizontal movement. Train to articulate and communicate these three directions.
Side to Side | Exercise 1
Side movement is the first of our three horizontal directions. Start each dance with a side move, putting your partnership on the same leg.
Forwards & Backwards | Exercise 2
Forwards and backwards are the second and third of horizontal directions, side being the first.
Three Horizontal Directions | Exercise 3
Forward, side, and backward are the three horizontal directions that feel best for ourselves and our partnership. Train to master these 3 directions and leave out diagonal confusion.
