Level 6 | Boogie & Forward/Backward Moves
Boogie and Forward/Backward moves are the first two of 17 root moves.
Use Boogie to connect and dance in place. Use Forwards/Backwards to travel and explore.
Every Beat | Exercise 1
Transferring your weight on every beat of the music defines your movement’s speed, which is your dance timing. It is the groundwork for moving to music and will be your timing for the Fundamentals section.
Boogie | Exercise 2
Boogie is dancing in place and feeling it out. Compare it to idling your car engine, you as a dance machine are grooving but not traveling anywhere.
Forward or Backward Moves | Exercise 3
Moving forwards, you do it every day; moving backwards, not as much. Forward and backward moves let you travel in a continuous direction as if you are flying.
